Dear K2-8th Grade BBCS Families,
We’re excited to welcome you into the new school year and to invite you to our upcoming family event on Thursday, September 18th.
This year, instead of the back-to-school open house that we have done in previous years, we’re inviting families to join us for Grades & Growth Night. Many of you met your child’s teacher at the BBQ on August 15th—this evening will focus instead on helping you understand your child’s academic development and will be facilitated by our Instructional Leadership Team.
You’ll learn about the assessments we use at Bridge, receive your child’s data, and get support in understanding what that data means and how to help your child’s growth. Presentations will be offered in developmentally appropriate grade bands: K2–2nd, 3rd–5th, and 6th–8th. If you have children in multiple groups, you will need to choose one session to attend. Don’t worry—you’ll still receive the data and materials for each of your children afterward. Note for K1 families: We will not hold a Grades & Growth session for K1, since these assessments don’t yet apply to our youngest learners. Instead, many of the topics most relevant to K1 were already shared during Hooray for K last spring.
Looking ahead, please also mark your calendars for Family Teacher Conferences on November 7th, where you’ll have time to meet with and talk to your child’s teacher(s).
Dinner will be provided from 5:00–5:45, and childcare will be available. We look forward to seeing you on September 18th!
With Graditude,
